Clap of the critic
Endeavors put forth, you share out of pride
Torn asunder by those who criticize and deride
At first the blows hurt, but you barrel through them
Not realizing those painful words plant the seed which will soon stem
It manifests the thoughts, seizes your eyes
Whatever it looks upon doesn’t work and needs a revise
For whatever purpose you fall victim and submit
Little do you know your mind became the inner critic’s bitch
The seed is the warden, holding the key to your cell
Demanding perfection, refusing you to show or tell
At first it’s a challenge welcome, see yourself as a slacker
Only to lose sight of your initial
